The Liberty League has announced its 2025 Men's Outdoor Track & Field major award recipients as voted by the conference's head coaches following NCAA Championships.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE YEAR: Josh Ihegihu, Senior, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
RPI senior Josh Ihegihu was named the Liberty League Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Track Athlete of the Year following the 2025 outdoor season. Ihegihu qualified and competed in three events at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship and earned All-America honors in all three. Ihegihu and his teammates earned All-America first team recognition in both the 4x100-meter relay and the 4x400-meter relay with a fourth-place finish in both events. In the 4x100, Ihegihu along with Cam Caso, Donovan Myrick, and Ronen Stewart combined for a school record time of 40.24 seconds. In the 4x400, the quartet of Ihegihu, Stewart, Peter Cavanaugh, and Alex Flynn produced a program-best time of 3:11.0. Iheighu also competed as an individual in the 200-meter dash, where he finished 12th in the prelims (21.42) and earned second team All-America honors. Ihegihu was recognized as the Liberty League Most Outstanding Track Co-Performer of the Meet at the 2025 championship with three first-place finishes—100-meter dash (10.65), 4x100-meter relay (41.02), and 4x400-meter relay (3:14.03). He was also the runner-up in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.32 seconds.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE YEAR: Jordan Johnson, Senior, University of Rochester
University of Rochester senior Jordan Johnson was selected as the Liberty League Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Field Athlete of the Year at the conclusion of the 2025 outdoor season. Johnson earned All-America first team recognition at the 2025 NCAA Division III Track & Field Championship with a sixth-place showing and a mark of 60.90 meters. He is Rochester’s first All-American outdoor thrower since 1989. Jonson also competed in the javelin at NCAAs, where he finished 21st at 53.33 meters. He was named the Liberty League Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet at the 2025 conference championship following a trio of event wins—hammer throw (61.16m), discus 46.46m), and javelin (62.09m). He set championship meet records in both the hammer and javelin, shattering marks set in 1998 and 2005 respectively. Johnson also recorded a third-place finish in the shot put at 13.54 meters. On the year, Johnson totaled 17 top-three finishes, including nine first-place results.
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Cam Caso, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
RPI first-year Cam Caso was recognized as the Liberty League Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Year following the 2025 season. Caso earned All-America first team accolades at the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship as the lead leg in RPI’s 4x100-meter relay. Caso along with Josh Ihegihu, Donovan Myrick, and Ronen Stewart combined for a school record time of 40.24 seconds and finished fourth overall. He also took part in the team’s winning 4x100-meter relay (41.02) at the 2025 Liberty League Championship en route to the Engineers’ winning their third consecutive outdoor conference title. As an individual, he competed in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. The two-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week selection was the runner-up in the 100 with a time of 10.75 seconds and he placed fourth in the 200 with a time of 21.75 seconds.

RPI head coach Colin Tory and his staff earned Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year honors for the third straight year. The Engineers cruised to their third consecutive Liberty League outdoor title in May, scoring 133.5 points more than runner-up Rochester. They totaled 318.5 points over the two-day meet and posted 10 event wins, including a sweep of the relays. RPI had a league-high nine individuals qualify for the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships and eight earned All-America honors. The Engineers tied for ninth as a team at with 22 points and the championship was highlighted by both relays placing fourth with program-best times of 40.24 seconds (4x100) and 3:11.0 (4x400), James Zeolla finishing third in the pole vault with a leap of 5.10 meters, and Ronen Stewart recording a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.21 seconds.
