Liberty League announces 2025-26 Women's Golf award recipients

The 2025-26 Women's Golf major awards (Player, Rookie, and Coaching Staff) are based on a vote by the conference's head coaches. All-Liberty League accolades are based on 2026 Liberty League Championship individual finish.

 

PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Jiayi Fu, First-Year, New York University

For the first time since the 2022-23 season, a NYU women’s golfer has been named Liberty League Player of the Year, with first-year Jiayi Fu earning the 2025-26 honor. Fu is in the midst of a breakout season with the Violets with a 70.7 scoring average across 19 rounds. She has posted top-12 finishes in all seven events she has competed in this year. Fu posted her first collegiate tournament victory at the Carnegie Mellon Tartan Invitational, where she carded an eight-under 136 after rounds of 71 (-1) and 65 (-7). Most recently, she was the medalist at the 2026 Liberty League Championship with a two-round score of 145 (71-74) leading the Violets to their 10th Liberty League title. Other highlights from 2025-26 include a tie for sixth at the NCAA Preview (142—69-73) in September and a runner-up finish at Amherst’s Jack Leaman Invitational (145—70-75) in April. Fu heads to her first national championship ranked third in Division III and as the top golfer representing Region II.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Inha Jun, New York University

It is also the first time since 2022-23 that a NYU women’s golfer has been recognized as Liberty League Rookie of the Year, and NYU first-year Inha Jun is the 2025-26 recipient. She is currently sporting a 72.3 scoring average across 18 rounds while ranking 14th in Division III and fourth in Region II. She posted five top 10 finishes this year, including a second-place showing at the 2026 Liberty League Championship. Jun shared runner-up honors at the conference championship with teammate Sonia Hao; they both posted a two-round total of 146. Jun opened the tournament with a 72 and posted a 74 the following day. She opened the spring by tying for fifth at the Jekyll Island Invitational with a three-round total of 223 (78-73-72).

COACHING STAFF OF THE YEAR: New York University

The NYU Women’s Golf Coaching Staff was selected as the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year. Head Coach Brad Johnson and assistant coach Daniel Moneymaker guided the Violets to four tournament victories this season, including the program’s 10th Liberty League Championship title. They also posted team victories at the Jekyll Island Invitational, Randolph-Macon’s Stith Invitational, and Amherst’s Jack Leaman Invitational. At the conference championship, all five of NYU’s golfers earned All-Liberty League First Team honors as they all placed first through fifth on the individual leaderboard. The team posted a two-round total of 582 (287–295) en route to the 2026 title. By winning the conference championship, the Violets secured the Liberty League’s automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. NYU has averaged a team round score of 286.6 this year and is currently ranked No. 2 in Division III according to the latest Scoreboard/Clippd rankings as they head to the 2026 NCAA Division III Championship in Palm Desert, California, May 19-22.
