NYU Women’s Golf remains in Third Place after Round Three of NCAA Championship

Fu Sits Tied for Third Individually as Chowdary Shoots One-Under Round in Palm Desert

The No. 2-ranked New York University (NYU) women's golf team remains in third place after Thursday's third round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship at Desert Willow Golf Resort.

The Violets finished the day at +17 overall (881) after carding a team score of 285 (+6) during round three. NYU trails only Emory University (+6, 870) and Carnegie Mellon University (+7, 871) entering Friday's final round of competition.

Jiayi Fu continued her strong tournament play and sits tied for third individually at two-under par (214) through 54 holes. Fu followed up her second-round performance with a one-over round of 73 on Thursday and remains within striking distance of the individual national title entering the final round.

Tiya Chowdary delivered NYU's best round of the afternoon, carding a one-under 71 to climb 24 spots into a tie for 26th overall at seven-over par. Sonia Hao also moved up the leaderboard, climbing six spots into a tie for 20th overall at five-over after shooting an even-par round on Thursday.

Inha Jun finished the day tied for 31st overall at eight-over through three rounds, while Naomi Tan climbed 16 spots into a tie for 64th overall.

The NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship field was reduced to the top 15 teams and six individuals following Wednesday's second-round cut. NYU advanced into the final two rounds and remains firmly inside the top three heading into the final round.

NYU entered the championship ranked No. 2 nationally after winning the Liberty League Championship earlier this month.

The final round of the NCAA Championship is scheduled for Friday morning in Palm Desert.
