The Liberty League announced that 30 student-athletes in 10 different sports have been recognized for their outstanding performances during the week of April 20-26. Union College sophomore Iyene Essien, the Performer of the Week in women's golf, carded the fifth-lowest round in program history with a two-over-par 74 to take individual medalist honors at the Union Spring Invitational on Saturday. Essien's 74 was good for a four-stroke victory over a trio of Ithaca golfers at 78, carding dual nines of 37 to post her fourth individual victory and seventh top-five finish in eight events so far this season.
