ITHACA, N.Y. – The Skidmore College baseball team scored six runs in each the fourth and fifth inning on the way to a 14-5 victory over Clarkson to open the 2025 Liberty League Tournament at Cornell's Booth Field.
  • Skidmore (21-15-2) will meet host Ithaca on Friday in the winner's bracket.
  • Zachary Leiderman went 4-for-5 with a home run, double, three RBI, and three runs scored.
  • Trey Bourque was 4-for-6 with a double, two RBI, and two runs.
  • Andy Pelc also homered. He was 3-for-5.
  • Ewen Donald and Eddie Galvao both had two hits as the Thoroughbreds mashed 17 hits in total including five extra-base knocks.
  • Chase Siegel earned his ninth win of the year, going seven innings allowing five runs, three earned, on seven hits. He walked and struck out five. His ninth win ties Spencer Marcus (2010) for the most in a single season in program history.

  • Skidmore scored again in the second, also with two outs, on a Landon Schwartzman RBI single.
  • Clarkson tied it in the top of the third aided by a two-out error leading to back-to-back RBI singles from Harris and Vardion.
  • Pelc's lead-off, no-doubt shot through the wine to left kicked off Skidmore's six-run fourth.
  • Bourque and Leiderman later hit consecutive run-scoring doubles in the frame before Donald and Galvao singled with an overthrow to bring in three more.
  •  Vardion's two-run jack in the fifth going with the wind to right field cut Skidmore's lead to four.
  • Then, in the fifth, two Clarkson defensive miscues gave way to six more runs on four hits giving the Thoroughbreds a comfortable 10-run cushion. Each of the five seniors in the lineup (Bourque, Leiderman, Sam Kornet, Donald, and Pelc) drove in a run in the inning.
  • Clarkson completed the scoring with a single run in the seventh.
