Two from Liberty League Baseball named to ABCA Region 3 All-Defensive Team

For the second straight year, a pair of Liberty League baseball players were selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Division III All-Defensive Team for Region 3.

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) junior Charlie Slaymaker was recognized as Region 3’s top defensive third baseman and Hobart College junior Teck Nash was named Region 3’s top defensive pitcher.

Slaymaker ended the 2025 season with a .973 fielding percentage with 36 putouts, 71 assists, and just three errors. From the plate, he boasted a .324 batting average. He totaled 46 hits on the year, scored 31 runs and drove in 33. Slaymaker was also named to the All-Liberty League Third Team in May.

Nash did not commit an error in 22 fielding attempts this season to go along with six putouts and 16 assists. In three seasons with the Statesmen, Nash has only committed four errors in 59 career fielding attempts (.918 fielding percentage). A third team All-Liberty League selection, Nash made 10 starts this season. He paced Hobart in innings pitched (64.2) and had a team-high 34 strikeouts.

Players selected to the ABCA NCAA Division III Region All-Defensive teams were eligible for the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove honors. The 2025 ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners in all divisions were announced on Wednesday, June 18.
