Wellesley Golf ends Day Three in Sixth at NCAA DIII Championship

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Wellesley College golf wrapped up round three of the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship in sixth place at the Kingsmill Resort & Spa's Par 72 River Course on Thursday. 

Wellesley currently holds a 54-hole team score of 903 (311-289-303). Emory University leads the final fifteen teams who made the cut at 875 (299-287-289). Early in the day the Blue finished round two in third place overall with an even 600 score (311-289). That score advanced the Blue through the cut and into the latter two rounds.

Sophomore Sarah Yeh finished the day with a 74 (+2) that included four birdies. Yeh's 54-hole score of 224 (80-70-74) is tied for 20th overall. 

Classmate Audrey Wang also had a three-day total of 224 (74-74-76). Wang went four strokes over par in round three and made a birdie on 16.

First-year Savannah Boyd posted a 75 (+3) in round three, to bring the 54-hole total to 235 (80-80-75). 

Sophomore Aileen Du recorded a 78 (+6) for the third round with birdies on the 7th and 15th to get to nine strokes over par across the week (225 - 77-70-78). 

Sophomore Kaurvaki Bajpai rounded out the squad at seven strokes over par (79) on Thursday. Bajpai is tied with Boyd at 235 (81-75-79) for the championship.

The Blue will wrap up NCAA Division III Championship competition tomorrow, with the final round beginning at 9:50 AM.
