NYU Women's Golf concludes NCAA Women's Golf Championship; Violets finish 12th

New York University's women's golf team completed the fourth and final round of the 2024 NCAA Division III Championship on Friday, May 24, at the par-72 Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, KY.

The Violets placed 12th out of 29 total teams and 15 who made the cut after two rounds. NYU totaled 1,247 strokes, nine ahead of 13th-place Centre College and seven behind 11th-place Trinity University.

"After a terrific start, we struggled a bit over the last couple of days," said Head Coach Brad Johnson, whose team was tied for fourth after two rounds. "But, finishing 12th nationally is a good result."

Tiya Chowdary was the Violets' top finisher, tying for 29th after totaling 305 strokes over four days. Nalinda Wanikpun was also among the top 40, carding 308 strokes across the four rounds to tie for 38th.

Michelle Zhou tied for 51st with her four-day score of 312. Irene Park (65th, 323) and Summer Yang (70th, 327) also represented NYU at the tournament.

There were 150 golfers in action at the Championship.

NYU improved on its 16th-place finish at last year's NCAA Championship after coming in eighth in 2022 and winning it all in 2019.
