The 2024 Women's Golf major awards (Player, Rookie, and Coaching Staff) are based on a vote by the conference's head coaches. All-Liberty League honors are based on 2024 Liberty League Championship individual finish.
Player of the Year: Audrey Wang, First-Year, Wellesley College
Wellesley College first-year Audrey Wang was named the 2023-24 Liberty League Women’s Golf Player of the Year. Wang was the Blue’s top golfer this season with a 75.5 stroke average. She closed out her rookie campaign ranked in the top-35 of Clippd’s Division III rankings (33rd), the highest ranking among Liberty League golfers. She was also ranked fifth regionally. Wang finished among the top-10 in all nine events she competed in this year, and she was the medalist in two events—Middlebury’s George Phinney Classic in September and the Vassar Invitational in March. At Middlebury, she carded a 152 after shooting a 77 in the first round and followed it up with a 75 in the second. At Vassar, she set a program record for Wellesley’s lowest 18-hole score, 68, in the one-round event. Wang also recorded a third place showing at Amherst’s Jack Leaman Invitational (73-75—146) and she earned a spot on the All-Liberty League Second Team after placing eighth at the championship (79-77—156).
Rookie of the Year: Aileen Du, First-Year, Wellesley College
Wellesley College first-year Aileen Du was recognized as the 2023-24 Liberty League Women’s Golf Rookie of the Year. Du had a strong rookie campaign for the Blue that ended with a top-four finish at the Liberty League Championship and a spot on the All-Liberty League First Team. She was the top rookie and Wellesley golfer at the championship with a two-day total of 152 (77-76) for fourth. Additionally, she had six other top five finishes, that included finishing second at Amherst’s Jack Leaman with a two-day score of 146 (71-75). She also shot a two-under (70) to place second at the Vassar Invitational II. Du averaged 76.4 strokes per round this season and finished the year ranked 51st in Division III (9th regionally).
Coaching Staff of the Year: Wellesley College – Jackie Beck, Head Coach; Assistant Coach Terry Crimmins
Head Coach Jackie Beck and Assistant Coach Terry Crimmins were selected as the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year for the second consecutive year. This season, they led the Blue to six tournament victories and a runner-up showing at the conference championship. Wellesley reached a program-high ranking of eighth in the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) poll and finish the year 12th in the Division III Clippd rankings. The Blue set program records for lowest 36-hole team score (604) and 18-hole team score (284) this year. Their season was highlighted by team victories at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship (604) in the fall and Amherst’s Jack Leaman Invitational (608) this spring. The Blue had four medalists on the year, including Audrey Wang’s individual victory at Middlebury’s George Phinney Classic in a playoff hole.
