Skidmore traveling to Bowdoin for NCAA Men’s Tennis Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS – The Skidmore College men's tennis team, after winning its 16th Liberty League title on Sunday, will compete in the NCAA Division III Tournament that begins Friday. The Thoroughbreds will head to the Bowdoin Regional, and start play with the first round on Friday, May 8 at 3 p.m. against Little East Conference champion Bridgewater State. The winner will play Babson on Saturday morning. The regional Friday will be on Sunday.

THE TEAMS:
Skidmore College (16-5)
  • The Thoroughbreds earned the automatic bid from the Liberty League after defeating Vassar College (4-3) in the conference title match on Sunday.
  • This is Skidmore's 13th NCAA Tournament appearance (2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2025).
  • Skidmore is ranked 24th nationally, and eighth in the Northeast Region, in the April 29 ITA Computer Rankings.
 
Bridgewater State University (12-4)
  • The Bears earned the automatic bid from the Little East Conference (LEC) after defeating Rhode Island College (4-3) in the conference title match on Saturday.
  • This is Bridgewater State's second NCAA Tournament appearance (2024).
  • Bridgewater State is unranked.
 
Babson College (18-4)
  • The Beavers earned the automatic bid from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) after defeating MIT (4-2) in the conference title match on Sunday, April 26.
  • This is Babson's sixth NCAA Tournament appearance.
  • Babson is ranked 12th nationally, and third in the Northeast Region, in the April 29 ITA Computer Rankings.
 
Bowdoin College (17-4)
  • The Polar Bears earned an at-large selection after falling in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) title match (4-1) to Tufts.
  • This is Bowdoin's 24th NCAA Tournament appearance, and third year in a row hosting. The Polar Bears won the 2016 NCAA Division III championship.
  • Bowdoin is ranked sixth nationally, and second in the Northeast Region, in the April 29 ITA Computer Rankings.
 
Farmingdale State (14-7)
  • The Rams earned the automatic bid from the Skyline Conference after defeating Manhattanville (4-3) on Friday.
  • Farmingdale State is unranked.
 
Roger Williams University (18-5)
  • The Hawks earned the automatic bid from the Conference of New England (CNE) after defeating Nichols (4-0) on Friday.
  • This is Roger Williams' fourth NCAA Tournament appearance.

The teams will play a single-elimination tournament with the first, second and third-rounds played at regional sites.
