2025 CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP

Rochester captured its second straight Liberty League title and fifth overall last April. Entering the third round of the 2025 championship following a rain-shortened second round (9 holes), the Yellowjackets held a four-stroke lead over second-place RPI. The Engineers cut that deficit to just one stroke after the opening nine holes of the final round, before Rochester pulled away on the back nine, recording 10 birdies to just three bogeys to secure the 2025 title and win by 17 strokes.

Rochester finished the 2025 tournament with a team score of 711(-9), including a 283 team total during the third round. RPI was the runner-up at 728, one stroke ahead of third-place NYU (729). Skidmore finished fourth with a 736, while St. Lawrence (768), Clarkson (780), and Hobart (785) rounded out the field.

2026 CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW

The Yellowjackets are seeking their third straight Liberty League title for the first time in program history. They enter the championship as the conference’s highest-ranked team in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division III poll (April 17), checking in at No. 18 nationally. This season, Rochester won the Northeast Elite Invitational in September and tied for first at their own Fred Kravetz Invitational last week. The Yellowjackets also recorded a runner-up finish at Carnegie Mellon’s Invitational in October. Sophomore Alvin Su leads the Yellowjacket lineup this season after tying for third at the 2025 Liberty League Championship (173—71-35-72). This year, he earned medalist honors at both the Northeast Elite (133, -9) and Fred Kravetz (139, -3). Other regular-season highlights for Su include a sixth-place finish at the Jekyll Island Invitational (306, -10) and a 35th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Preview (220, +5). Junior Arjun Aujla also returns; he finished sixth at last year’s championship (179, -1). This year, he was the team’s runner-up at the Northeast Elite (T-13th, 146), Carnegie Mellon (12th; 222), and Fred Kravetz (T-7th; 144). First-year Anderson Palm is set for his first conference championship following a strong regular season. At his first collegiate tournament, the NCAA Preview, Palm tied for 61st among 120 golfers with a three round score of 225 (73-79-73). Skidmore will look to improve upon its fourth-place showing at last year’s championship, and the Thoroughbreds are an experienced squad with four of the team’s golfers from the 2025 championship back in the lineup. As a team, they are receiving votes in the most recent Bushnell/Golfweek Preseason Poll (April 17). As a team, Skidmore posted four top-four finishes this season, including a tie for third at its own Dr. Tim Brown Invitational. Sophomore Johnny Hwang is the Thoroughbreds’ top returning golfer from the 2025 conference championship, where he placed ninth with a score of 182 (+2). At Tim Brown, he tied for 12th, compiling a two-day score of 147 (73-74). Sophomore Patrick McLaughlin is another key returner for the Thoroughbreds. He finished 21st at the 2025 championship with a 191 (77-39-75). This season, he was second on the team at Farmingdale State’s Spring Invitational, carding a 144 over two rounds to finish 22nd in a field of 96 golfers. He also recorded a top-20 finish at the Port City Classic in Savannah, Georgia (T-19th, 223—77-74-72). The Violets are seeking their first conference title since 2022 and are headlined by a pair of golfers who finished among the conference’s top 20 a year ago. This year, NYU, which is currently receiving votes in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division III poll, recorded top-five finishes in five events, including a team victory at  Skidmore’s Tim Brown Invitational and a runner-up showing at the RPI Invitational. Sophomore Oscar Uribe has consistently been one of the Violets’ top performers. He was second on the team at both the Farmingdale State Spring Invitational (T-23rd) with a 145 (72-73) and Skidmore’s Dr. Tim Brown Invitational with a two-round total of 146 (73-73). At the 2025 Liberty League Championship, he tied for third overall with a 178 (70-36-72). At the Skidmore Fall Invitational, he led the team with a tie for ninth, shooting one-over 217 (71-77-69), and he added another top-10 performance at the RPI Invitational (10th, 72-76). At last year’s conference championship, Luangtana-anan was 19th with a score of 189 (76-39-74). First-year Tanmay Chandra will compete at his first league championship after a strong spring. At his first event of the year, Oglethorpe’s Indian Mound Man Individual Invitational in March, he was the medalist with a three-round total of 210 (69-72-69). At Tim Brown, he finished in a team-best tie for fourth (143—74-69) and added another top-five finish at Farmingdale State’s Bethpage Black Invitational (T-5th, 76).

Hobart enters the 2026 Liberty League Championship after recording four top-three team finishes across six tournaments this season. A pair of first-years provide a strong one-two punch for the Statesmen in Aman Dhiman and Troy Gregg. They each led the team in three tournaments this season. Gregg paced Hobart at Pitt-Bradford (T-2nd, 74), McDaniel (4th, 152), and Skidmore’s Tim Brown (17th, 148) while Dhiman earned tournament medalist honors at Oswego (137—69-68) and finished among the top 10 at RPI (5th, 147) and St. Lawrence (T-7th, 151). St. Lawrence is led by senior Jimmy King, who will be making his fourth appearance at the Liberty League Championship. He was the individual medalist at the 2024 Liberty League Championship (214—73-69-72), winning in a playoff, and recorded a top-25 finish in 2025 (193—76-37-80). King paced the Saints this spring, leading the team in all three tournaments. King earned the individual win at the SUNY Delhi Quad Match, firing a three-under 69 in the one-round event, where the Saints finished second as a team. He also posted a team-best tie for 13th at Farmingdale State’s Spring Invitational with a two-round total of 142, with an even-par 70 in the first round and a two-over 72 in round two.

RPI is a young squad this season, as three of its five golfers at last year’s championship have graduated. First-year Zydon Yuan has been the Engineers’ top performer this season. He kicked off his collegiate career with three top-10 finishes. At his first collegiate event, Farmingdale State’s George Cangero Invitational, he tied for fifth with an even-par 72. He also tied for fifth at the RPI Invitational in October (147—75-72), and he tied for eighth at the Williams Invitational, with a score of 219 (+6, 74-75-70). Last weekend at the Farmingdale State Spring Invitational, he tied for 29th with back-to-back rounds of 73 (147).
