SPARKS, Md. – USA Lacrosse Magazine announced its weekly awards for Division I, II and III on March 3 and Ithaca College senior midfielder Lily Cody was selected as the top player in Division III.
In Ithaca's thrilling 16-15 overtime victory at SUNY Cortland, where the Bombers overcame a seven-goal deficit, Cody accounted for seven points (6G, 1A), won 13 draw controls, picked up four ground balls and caused a turnover. Cody scored three goals to start the fourth quarter, which propelled the Bomber comeback and she then assisted on the game-winning goal in OT.
Through three games this season, Cody has tallied 12 goals and two assists (14 points), to go along with 25 draws, 10 ground balls, and four caused turnovers.
Ithaca, ranked No. 25 in the latest IWLCA Top 25 Poll, will play its first home game of the season Saturday, March 7 against No. 17 University of Scranton at 1 p.m.
