Liberty League announces 2025-26 Women's Squash Awards

Following a vote by the league's head coaches at the conclusion of the season, the Liberty League has announced its 2025-26 Women's Squash major awards and All-League teams.

PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Charlotte Jones, Sophomore, Denison University

Denison University sophomore Charlotte Jones was selected as the Liberty League Player of the Year for the second consecutive season after a dominant 2025-26 campaign. From the No. 1 position for the Big Red, Jones posted an outstanding 14-1 overall record, dropping just two games across her 14 victories. She went 3-0 at the Liberty League Championship with wins at the top of the ladder against Haverford, Vassar, and St. Lawrence en route to Denison’s first conference title. A four-time Liberty League Performer of the Week, Jones was also unbeaten (2-0) at the College Squash Association (CSA) Divisional Championship where Denison competed in the Kurtz Cup. Jones earned a pair of 3-0 victories against the top players from #16 Middlebury College and #17 Bowdoin College.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Eboni Atherley, St. Lawrence University

For the third time since the 2021-22 season, a first-year from St. Lawrence University has been named Liberty League Rookie of the Year, with Eboni Atherley garnering the 2025-26 accolade. Atherley competed primarily from the No. 2 position on the ladder for the Saints, where she went 11-5. She also posted two victories from No. 1 against Bard on February 14 and Vassar on November 22, finishing the season with a 13-5 overall record. At the CSA Divisional Championships, she reeled off three straight wins at No. 2 against Chatham University (3-2 win), Bates College (3-2 win), and Franklin and Marshall College (3-0 win), helping the Saints claim their first Walker Cup in program history.

COACHING STAFF OF THE YEAR: Denison University

The Denison University Women's Squash Coaching Staff, head coach Michael MacDonald and assistant coach Tron Torres, were named the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year after directing the Big Red to an 11-5 overall record this season along with the program’s first conference title since joining the league in 2023-24.
