Liberty League announces 2025-26 Men's Golf Awards

Following a vote by the league's head coaches, the Liberty League has announced the 2025-26 Men's Golf major award winners and All-League teams.

 

PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Alvin Su, Sophomore, University of Rochester

University of Rochester sophomore Alvin Su was named the Liberty League Men’s Golf Player of the Year. Through the regular season and conference tournament, he averaged 70.3 strokes per round across 22 rounds. He was the medalist at three tournaments this year, including the 2026 Liberty League Championship. At the championship, Su carded a three-round score of 208 to tie for first through 54 holes and then posted a playoff victory with three straight pars. He also finished first at Rochester’s own Fred Kravetz Invitational (-3, 139) and The Northeast Elite (-9, 133), finishing first among 90 golfers. He also placed among the top ten at the Jekyll Island Invitational with a score of 206 (-10, 69-67-70), tying for sixth among 150. Su was named Liberty League Golfer of the Week six times this year and is currently ranked 14th in Division III according to the most recent Scoreboard/Clippd rankings. He also tops the Region II rankings as he competes in his second consecutive NCAA Championship this week.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Aman Dhiman, Hobart College

Hobart College first-year Aman Dhiman was recognized as the Liberty League Rookie of the Year following the 2025-26 campaign. Dhiman paced the Statesmen in his first year with the team with a scoring average of 73.9 across 14 rounds. He concluded his rookie season ranked ninth in Region II. Dhiman posted five top 10 finishes this year, including an individual victory at the Oswego Fall Invitational. He totaled a five-under 137 at the two-day tournament, scoring a 69 on day one and followed it up with a 68 in the second round. At his first conference championship, he tied for fourth with a three-round score of 216 (E, 72-69-75). He led Hobart to a third-place finish, the team’s best showing at the Liberty League Championship since 2005.

CO-COACHING STAFF OF THE YEAR: Hobart College

Hobart College head coach Mike Long was selected as the Liberty League Co-Coaching Staff of the Year. Long guided the Statesmen to their best finish at the conference championship since 2005 this year as they finished third with a team score of 885 (+21). Hobart recorded three other top-four finishes this season. The Statesmen were the team runner-up at the Oswego Fall Invitational, with a two-round score of 600. They also finished third at the St. Lawrence Fall Invite (611) and the McDaniel Spring Invite (626). As a team, the Statesmen averaged 306.0 strokes per round and are ranked sixth in Region II.

CO-COACHING STAFF OF THE YEAR: University of Rochester

University of Rochester head coach Dan Wesley and his assistant coaches were selected as the Liberty League Co-Coaching Staff of the Year. Wesley and his staff guided the Yellowjackets to their third consecutive Liberty League title. Trailing by 11 strokes heading into the third and final day of the 2026 conference championship, Rochester shot 15-under-par to make up its deficit and finish six strokes ahead of runner-up NYU. The Yellowjackets’ third round score of 273 was the best team round of the tournament. During the regular season, Rochester tied for first at their own Fred Kravetz Invitational (+1, 569) and finished tied for second at Carnegie Mellon’s Tartan Invitational (889). Rochester earned the league’s automatic qualifier for the 2026 NCAA Division III Championship and the Yellowjackets are making their third straight appearance at nationals and 26th all-time. Rochester is currently averaging 293.3 strokes per round while they are the top Region II team in 19th in Division III in the most recent Scoreboard/Clippd rankings.
