ABOUT SKIDMORE
Making its second consecutive postseason appearance under head coach Joe Martin, Skidmore finished the regular season with a 10-5 overall record and a 3-4 mark in Liberty League play.
The Thoroughbreds opened the season with a program-best 7-0 start, highlighted by wins over then-No. 14 Cortland and No. 20 RPI. That stretch earned Skidmore its first ranking in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) national coaches' poll since 2024, climbing as high as No. 15. Along with the conference win over RPI, Skidmore also picked up victories over Vassar (15-11) and Clarkson (11-7) in a pair of road matchups.
Offensively, the Thoroughbreds are led by sophomore Michael Aiello (30 goals, 34 assists) and first-year Joseph Killcommons (30 goals, 3 assists). Defensively, Skidmore is anchored by second-year goalkeeper Marc Gadbois (144 saves, .514 save percentage) and the trio of junior Ethan Dicturel (27 caused turnovers), senior Jude Avelino Jr. (24), and sophomore Michael Dearborn (24).
ABOUT UNION
Despite a losing overall record, Union has been highly competitive, dropping six one-goal games—many against nationally ranked opponents. The Garnet Chargers are also red-hot to close the regular season, having won five of their last seven games to finish 4-3 in Liberty League play.
Offensively, Union is led by senior Walker Popko (44 goals, 17 assists) and first-year Garrett Salit (26 goals, 26 assists). Defensively, the Garnet Chargers feature senior John Sula (25 caused turnovers) and junior goalkeeper Nick Lynch (214 saves, .549 save percentage).
RECENT SERIES HISTORY
Since 2008, the Thoroughbreds are 5-13 against the Garnet Chargers and 2-8 on the road in Schenectady. In the most recent meeting earlier this season, Skidmore fell 12-10 in a tightly contested road matchup.
The Thoroughbreds' last win over Union came last season, a 12-8 victory at Wachenheim Field.

With a win, Skidmore would travel to top-seeded Ithaca on Friday in the semifinal round of the conference tournament, setting up a rematch of last year's first-round game.
