Five from Liberty League Men’s Basketball earn All-Region accolades; Skidmore’s Gooden named D3Hoops Region 3 Rookie of the Year

Five Liberty League Men’s Basketball players representing four conference schools were recognized with All-Region accolades following the 2025-26 campaign. Four were named to D3Hoops All-Region teams—Union juniors Jack Plesser (First Team) and Tanner Tedesco (Second Team), Vassar junior Shea Fitzgerald (Second Team), and St. Lawrence University senior Adam Dudzinski (Second Team), while Skidmore’s Jacob Gooden was named the Region 3 Rookie of the Year. For the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District teams, Plesser and Fitzgerald were named to the District 3 First Team.

Jacob Gooden, Guard, Skidmore College
 
Gooden, the 2025-26 Liberty League Rookie of the Year, made an immediate impact with the Thoroughbreds, tallying double-digit points in nine of his first 10 collegiate games. In 18 games this season, he recorded double-digit scoring in all but one (17 total). He averaged 19.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, including 10 games with 20 or more points. Gooden earned Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors four times this season and led the Thoroughbreds in scoring. He ranked second among league leaders in points per game and was eighth in both field goal percentage (45.8 percent, 124-for-271) and free throw percentage (69.3 percent, 79-for-114).

Jack Plesser, Junior, Forward, Union College
 
Plesser, the 2025-26 Liberty League Player of the Year, averaged a league-best 22.6 points per game to go along with 7.6 rebounds and 1.4 blocks across 25 games with 22 starts. He led the Garnet Chargers in scoring, rebounding, blocks, field goal percentage (55.3 percent, 214-for-387), and free throw percentage (76.2 percent, 128-for168) while ranking second on the team in steals (25). Plesser finished the year more than 3.5 points per game ahead of the league’s next-leading scorer and paced the conference in field goal percentage. He is also among the Liberty League’s top eight in rebounds per game (2nd), free throw percentage (3rd), blocks per game (3rd), and minutes per game (35.8). A six-time Liberty League Performer of the Week, Plesser is ranked 23rd in Division III in scoring average, 17th in field goals, and 42nd in free throws. He scored double figures in 24 of 25 games this season, highlighted by six games with 30+ points and 15 games with 20 or more points to go along with seven double-doubles on the year.

Shea Fitzgerald, Junior, Vassar College
 
Fitzgerald led the Brewers in scoring with 16.8 points per game and recorded career-highs in three-pointers made (84), rebounds (5.0 per game), assists (85) and free-throw percentage (88.4-percent). He was named the Liberty League Championship's Most Outstanding Performer after averaging 20 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game during Vassar’s three games in the Liberty League Championship. Fitzgerald posted 23 double-digit scoring games along with registering a season-high 28 points twice against Union this season. He finished the year fourth all-time in points for Vassar with 1,344 along with being fourth in career three-pointers made (184). Fitzgerald also set the new single season program record for three-pointers made in a single season with 84. His career scoring average of 17.0 points per game sits third all-time in Vassar history and he is just six made free throws away from breaking the Vassar program record. He currently ranks third all-time in steals in his career with 126 and is in the top-10 in assists and assists average for the Brewers.

Tanner Tedesco, Junior, Guard, Union College
 
Tedesco led the Liberty League and ranked 14th in Division III with 150 assists, the fifth-highest single-season mark in program history, while also leading the Liberty League by shooting 40.8 percent (62 of 152) from three-point range. He ranked third in the Liberty League in threes made (62) and finished 10th in scoring at 14.5 points per game, scoring in double-figures in 18 games this season. A three-year starter for Union, Tedesco became the 26th player in program history to record 1,000 points this season and will enter next year as a senior with 1,007 points and 452 assists to his credit. He already ranks fifth in program history in assists, thanks to two of the five top single-season totals ever at Union and also brings the program's third-highest career free-throw percentage (83.2 percent) into his final year.

Adam Dudzinski, Senior, Forward, St. Lawrence University
 
Dudzinski paced the Saints in scoring and rebounding this season with a team-best 17.0 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game. He also led the team in blocks (24), free throws made (108), and three-pointers made (57). Dudzinski finished the year tied for fourth among league leaders in scoring. He topped the conference in rebounds (221) and rebounds per game as well as defensive rebounds (179) while ranking 12th in offensive rebounds (42). He was also among the league’s top 12 in three-pointers made (6th), free throw percentage (9th, .688), and field goal percentage (10th, .452).
