St. Lawrence University has announced the appointment of Tyler Pagaduan
(pron. puh-GAH-dew-AHN) as head coach of the Saints' softball program, as announced by Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Franco Bari on Tuesday.
Pagaduan joins St. Lawrence from his alma mater of Geneva College, where he spent the 2025 season as associate head coach of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) softball program. His expanded role at Geneva included the near complete management of all athlete recruiting for the program. That followed two seasons as head softball coach at Eastern Nazarene College. In the 2023 season, he led the Lions to a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) championship and an NCAA tournament appearance.
"I would like to thank the search committee for their thorough efforts in securing a very qualified coach with high level experience," said Bari. "It was clear throughout the process how well Tyler fit with the values of our department and the University as a whole. We are confident that Tyler will continue the upward trajectory of the softball team and we are very excited for him to get started."
A native of Voorhees, N.J., Pagaduan had a stint with his alma mater at Geneva as graduate assistant softball coach from 2021 to 2023, before obtaining the head coaching position at ENC. He completed his Master's degree in Higher Education in 2023. From 2018 to 2021, Pagaduan worked as a travel coach instructor and recruiting manager for In the Zone Baseball and Softball Academy, focusing on athlete development and recruitment.
A graduate of Geneva College, Pagaduan was a four-year starter on the baseball team from 2015 to 2018, earning All-PAC honors in his junior and senior seasons.
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Pagaduan has worked in college admissions, most recently serving as the Graduate and Online Enrollment Counselor at Geneva.
"I'm honored to be named the next head softball coach at St. Lawrence University," said Pagaduan. "This program has seen great success in recent years, and I'm excited to help lead it to the next level. I want to thank Franco Bari and the search committee for their trust in me and for this incredible opportunity. I was drawn to the strong sense of community and the outstanding resources the University provides to support our student-athletes."
"I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my mentors – especially Van Zanic, head softball coach at Geneva, and Judy Wilson, director of graduate and online admissions at Geneva – who believed in me and helped shape the skills that prepared me for this role. I'm eager to work with this talented group of student-athletes and contribute to the continued growth of the program."
Pagaduan will begin his role on Monday, September 15 and will lead the Saints into the upcoming 2026 season.
