Poughkeepsie, N.Y. – A pair of Vassar College Women's Basketball standouts have been honored with D3hoops.com All-Region honors. Senior Tova Gelb was named the Region III Player of the Year and First Team All-Region, while classmate Julia Harvey earned Third Team All-Region III honors.
Gelb earns First Team All-Region III honors from D3hoops.com for the second straight season after being named the Liberty League Player and Defensive Player of the Year. Gelb received seven Liberty League Performer of the Week honors in 2024-25 and landed on the Liberty League's First Team for the second straight season.
Gelb led Vassar in scoring, rebounding and steals as a senior, averaging 18.3 points, 10.4 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game for the Brewers. Gelb shot an efficient 47.8-percent from the floor in 2024-25 and converted at 79.2-percent from the free-throw line. Gelb chipped in nearly three assists and just over one blocked shot per game for the Brewers.
Among the conference leaders, Gelb finished the season atop the Liberty League leaderboard in scoring, rebounding and steals. Gelb finished a standout campaign ranked second in field goal percentage, fifth in free-throw percentage, eighth in blocks and ninth assists.
Gelb finished the year scoring in double-figures in 25 of the team's 28 games and completed the year with 18 double-doubles. Gelb became the 15th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points, reaching the milestone against RIT on January 18 in a game which she posted a single-game program record 36 points.
Harvey also earns All-Region honors from D3hoops for the second straight year after being named First Team All-Liberty League and the Liberty League Championship Most Outstanding Player. Harvey also collected a pair of Liberty League Performer of the Week nods as a senior.
Harvey closed her senior season scoring 15.7 points per game, ranking third on the team in scoring average. Harvey paced the Brewers with 47 three-point field goals and converted at a team-high 87.7-percent from the free-throw line. Harvey rounded out a stellar season with 5.1 rebounds and just over one steal per contest for the Brewers.
Harvey finished the season as the Liberty League leader in free-throw percentage and ranked second in three-point field goal percentage (33.1) and third in three-pointer per game (2.0). Harvey ranked third in the conference in scoring and ninth in minutes per game (30.1).
Harvey closed the year scoring in double-figures 19 times, including a season-high 29 points on December 7 at William Smith. Harvey became the 14th player in program history to reach 1,000 points with 14 points against New Paltz on November 12.
Vassar finished the 2024-25 season with a 21-7 overall record, capturing its second straight Liberty League Crown and making the program's sixth ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
