Three Liberty League Men’s Basketball players representing three conference schools were recognized with All-Region honors following the 2024-25 campaign. All three earned spots on the D3Hoops.com Region 3 teams and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) District 3 teams.
Vassar College sophomore guard Shea Fitzgerald, the Liberty League Player of the Year, was named to both the D3Hoops and NABC First Team. Ithaca senior guard Logan Wendell was tabbed as a First Team honoree by the NABC and a Second Team honoree by D3Hoops.com. Union College sophomore guard Tanner Tedesco earned Second Team accolades from both organizations. Ithaca College head coach Waleed Farid was named the D3Hoops.com Region 3 Coach of the Year.

Shea Fitzgerald, Sophomore, Guard, Vassar
Fitzgerald played and started all 25 games this season for the Brewers as he led the team in scoring (19.7 points per game), assists (3.0 per game), free throws made (132), and free throw shooting percentage (.880). He paced the conference in total points with 492 while also topping the league leaderboard in points per game, and free throw shooting percentage. He was second in total free throws, third in 3-pointer shooting percentage (.372), and fourth from the field (.430). He was also among the top ten in total steals (T-4th, 47), steals per game (T-3rd, 1.9), total assists (8th, 75), and assists per game (9th). Fitzgerald, a three-time Liberty League Performer of the Week, ends the year ranked 25th nationally in free throw percentage and 71st in points per game.

Logan Wendell, Senior, Guard, Ithaca
Wendell played and started all 29 games for the Bombers this season where he averaged a team-best 17.9 points per game. He also contributed 4.6 rebounds per game and 2.8 assists per game. He recorded 20 or more points in 11 games this season. Among league leaders, he was third in points per game, fifth in field goal percentage (.408), eighth in total assists (80), and tenth in assists per game. Wendell was named the Liberty League Tournament’s Most Outstanding Performer as he helped the Bombers claim their first league title in five years. He closes out his career with the Bombers fifth on the program’s scoring list with 1,574 points.

Tanner Tedesco, Sophomore, Guard, Union
Tedesco finished the year third on the team in scoring with 13.5 points per game to go along with 4.1 rebounds per game. A starter in all 27 games, he paced the team and league with 175 assists while ranking third nationally in assists per game (6.5). Tedesco was also fourth in Division III for total assists and 37th in assists-to-turnover ratio (2.23). His 175 assists are third on the school’s single-season list and most-ever by a Union sophomore.

Waleed Faird, Ithaca College
Ithaca College head coach Waleed Farid earned D3Hoops.com Coach of the Year honors after leading the Bombers to their first Liberty League title since 2020. He directed the Bombers to a 19-10 overall mark. Picked to finish sixth in the league standings in this year’s coaches’ preseason poll, Ithaca improved its overall record by seven from 2023-24, including six wins against conference foes to earn the second seed of the Liberty League Championship at 13-5 after missing the postseason last year. The Bombers also returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2020 and advanced to the second round.
