10 Liberty League Football players earn D3football.com All-Region honors; Union’s Drach named Region 2 Coach of the Year

Ten Liberty League football players were selected to the 2025 D3football.com All-Region teams following the 2025 season. Four of the conference’s seven football programs were represented among the three Region 2 teams (first, second, and third).
 
Two Liberty League players earned first-team honors, while five were named to the second team and three secured spots on the third team.
 
Union College, the 2025 Liberty League Champions, had one second-team selection and a regional award winner in head coach Jon Drach. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) led all conference programs with honorees with five selections (two second team, three third team), followed by Hobart College with three (one first team, two second team). Ithaca College rounded out the group with one first-team selection.
 
The Region 2 teams, selected in balloting by regional sports information directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 240 nominations by full Division III member schools. 79 players were selected among the three teams. Players nominated for All-Region are now eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced on December 22.

Region II Coach of the Year: Jon Drach, Union
 
Drach, in his second year at the helm, led the Garnet Chargers to an 8-2 overall record and an unbeaten 7-0 mark in conference play. Projected to finish fifth in the Liberty League Football Preseason Poll, Union delivered a turnaround season with five more wins than in 2024 to finish atop the conference standings to close out 2025. After opening the season with back-to-back losses, the Garnet Chargers rattled off eight straight wins in the regular season, including seven straight victories against league opponents, to capture the program’s ninth Liberty League title and first since 2019. Union paced the conference in rushing offense (174.7 yards per game), while ranking second in total offense (369.6 yards per game), and third in total defense (294.1 yards per game). The Garnet Chargers also topped the league in kickoffs (42.8 net yards per game). In addition, they were second in sacks by (25, 155 yards) and third in interceptions (8, 13.9 yards per return). With the league’s automatic bid, Union made its 14th NCAA Tournament appearance and its second in the last three seasons.
