Ithaca and RPI to play in ECAC Football Bowls

The Ithaca College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) football teams have been selected to participate in the 2019 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Bowl Games on Saturday, November 23. There is eight total teams participating in the bowl games this weekend and four bowl games will be held on Saturday.
 
The Bombers will host Washington & Jefferson University in the Asa S. Bushnell Bowl at noon in Ithaca, N.Y. and the Engineers will travel to Grove City, Pa. to play Grove City College (8-2) in the James Lynah Bowl. Kickoff time is slated for noon. The other two bowl games are the Clayton Chapman Bowl (Westminster College at Morrisville State) and the Scotty Whitelaw Bowl (Brevard College at Carnegie Mellon).
 
Ithaca closed out the regular season with an 8-2 overall record (4-2 Liberty League) and the Bombers are coming off of a  32-20 win over Cortland in the 61st Cortaca Jug Game at MetLife Stadium on November 16. Washington & Jefferson, out of the Presidents' Athletic Conference, is 7-3 overall (6-3 Presidents’ Athletic Conference) after winning its regular season finale against Waynesburg, 50-14. Ithaca and W&J after met up five times overall. The Presidents lead the all-time series, 3-2, but the teams have not played since 1994. 
 
The Engineers finished the regular season on Saturday at Union College in the Dutchman Shoes Game, giving them a 6-4 overall record and a 3-3 mark in the Liberty League. The Grove City Wolverines are 8-2 with a 7-2 record in the Presidents' Athletic Conference. Grove City, the defending Lynah Bowl champions, won each of its final six games, including a 63-0 win at Thiel College on Saturday.
