Chattanooga, Tenn. – Vassar College junior Eugene Lee won his First Round match in three sets on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Singles Championship and in the process earned All-America honors. Lee became the first Brewer to win a match at the NCAA singles championship since Andrew Guzick won two matches in 2011.
After falling behind by a set in the opener against Tufts' Alex Ganchev, Lee rallied to go the distance and earn a hard fought 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory, his 15th singles victory of the spring. In the second round (Round of 16), Lee faced off against Alexander Ekstrand from the University of Chicago, who upset the number four seed in the draw, in the Round of 16. Lee battled before falling 2-0 (6-1, 6-4).
Lee, a First Tean All-Liberty League selection in singles, closes out a standout junior season with a 19-9 overall record for the 2025-26 campaign.
