The Liberty League announced that 17 student-athletes in eight different sports have been recognized for their outstanding performances during the week of May 4 - May 11. University of Rochester senior Maddie White, the Pitcher of the Week in softball, had a pair of strong outings in the circle for the Yellowjackets during the 2026 Liberty League Softball Championship as the team won its fifth conference title since 2021. The senior went 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA over 11 innings pitched, allowing seven hits, one run, and no walks while striking out 11 batters. During Saturday's first game against Ithaca (Game 6 of the tournament), a 2-1 victory for Rochester, White tossed a complete-game two-hitter, allowing one run and no walks while striking out five to keep the Yellowjackets alive in the tournament and force a decisive game seven.
