The Hobart baseball team earned one of 23 at-large bids into the 64-team 2026 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship. The Statesmen will face Mount Union at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 15 at Donnie Williams Sea Gull Baseball Stadium in Salisbury, Maryland.
General admission tickets are $10 for a single session, $25 for a weekend pass. Senior citizens are $7/$15 and college students and children are $5/$10. Tickets can be purchased online or at the gate beginning one hour before the game.
Hobart is making just its second NCAA appearance and first since 1992.
The Statesmen are 30-13 and were the runners up in the Liberty League Tournament. Ranked 46th in the final NCAA Power Index, Hobart was the second to last team into the field. The Statesmen are second in the nation in triples (22), fifth in fielding percentage (.977), 22nd in WHIP (1.38), 24th in shutouts (4), and 25th in walks allowed per 9 innings pitched (3.42).
Mount Union earned an at-large bid into the field with a 31-10 record. The Purple Raiders headed to the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament ranked 12th in the nation in the D3baseball.com poll. Mount Union is 16th in the nation in strikeouts per nine innings (8.9) and 17th in sacrifice flies (33) and winning percentage (.756).
The Statesmen and Purple Raiders were originally scheduled to open the season against each other in Fayetteville, North Carolina, but weather wiped out the contest.
It will be a four-team double elimination bracket at Salisbury, with the host No. 7 Seagulls (32-9) taking on Bridgewater State (30-8) in the other opening round game.
