Liberty League announces weekly award winners for Jan. 5

The Liberty League announced that 10 student-athletes in four different sports have been recognized for outstanding play for the period of Dec. 15 to Jan. 4. Union College senior Jelena Perovic, the Performer of the Week in women's basketball, averaged 13.3 points and 9.7 rebounds to lead the Garnet Chargers to a 2-1 record. Perovic led all players with 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Union to a 69-60 win over RIT to start off the 2026 portion of the schedule on Saturday, hitting hitting 8-of-14 shots from the field. She had 10 points and seven boards in the second half, in which the Garnet Chargers outscored the Tigers by nine points to pull away.
