The Liberty League announced that 16 student-athletes in seven different sports have been recognized for outstanding play during the opening weekend of Aug. 29 - Sept. 1. Hobart College senior defender Brian Sheehan, the Defensive Performer of the week in men's soccer, guided Statesman defense to a pair of shutout victories at the Drew/FDU Fall Classic this past weekend. Hobart beat Kean (2-0) and Drew (1-0), holding the two teams to a combined 15 shots on the weekend. Sheehan also scored the game-winning goal in Friday's victory over Kean, heading home a corner kick.
