The Liberty League has announced its 2025 Women's Outdoor Track & Field major award recipients as voted by the conference's head coaches following NCAA Championships.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE YEAR: Haley Schoenegge, Sophomore, Vassar College
For the second straight year, Vassar College sophomore Haley Schoenegge was selected as the Liberty League Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year. She wrapped up the 2025 campaign by qualifying for two events in the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships: 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters. She claimed her second consecutive national champion title in the 1,500 with a time of 4:22.61 and a margin of victory of three seconds. She also garnered First Team All-America accolades in the 5,000 with a fifth-place finish in the event (16:36.19). At the Liberty League Outdoor Championship, Schoenegge earned Most Outstanding Track Co-Performer of the Meet honors with a pair of first-place finishes in the 1,500 and 5,000. She won the 1,500 by four seconds with a time of 4:29.09. In the 5,000, she broke her own meet record time of 17:02.02 set in 2024 by over 15 seconds, crossing the finish line in 16:44.66. She was recognized as the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Mideast Region Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year. Schoenegge was also named the 2024 Liberty League Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Year and the 2024-25 Liberty League Indoor Women’s Track & Field Track Athlete of the Year.
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE YEAR: Jahmilia Dennis, Junior, Vassar College
Vassar College junior Jamilia Dennis was named the Liberty League Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Field Athlete of the Year. Dennis qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships for the first time in her career and competed in the triple jump. She finished 12th at NCAAs with a leap of 11.86 meters and earned Second Team All-America accolades. At the Liberty League Championship, she earned gold in the triple jump for the third straight year (11.44m). She was also fourth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.80 seconds and placed seventh in the long jump (5.16m) at the championship. Dennis was the All-Atlantic Regional Champion in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 12.01 meters. Dennis now holds the Brewers’ program record for the triple jump (12.01m). She was also named the Liberty League Women’s Indoor Track & Field Co-Field Athlete of the Year following the indoor season.
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Eva Ciuffetelli, University of Rochester
University of Rochester sophomore Eva Ciuffetelli was recognized as the Liberty League Women’s Track & Field Rookie of the Year following her first outdoor collegiate season. Ciuffetelli along with teammates Megan Bell, Nora Chen, and Raquella Casserino garnered first team All-America accolades in the 4x400-meter relay with an eighth-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship, combining for a time of 3:47.44. Ciuffetelli also competed as an individual at NCAAs, placing 22nd in the 400-meter hurdles prelims with a time of 1:04.50. The five-time Liberty League Rookie of the Week helped the Yellowjackets claim their fourth straight conference title with a win in the 4x400-meter relay (3:53.68) at the 2025 Liberty League Championship. She was also the runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles, crossing the finish line at 1:02.55. Ciuffetelli finished second in the 400-meter hurdles at the All-Atlantic Regional Championship with a personal-best time of 1:01.55 in the event. In the 4x400-meter relay, the Yellowjackets were second at 3:50.45.

University of Rochester head coach Sam Albert and his staff were selected as the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year. The Yellowjackets claimed their fourth straight Liberty League outdoor women’s track and field title with 193.5 points, narrowly edging runner-up by Ithaca by two (191.5) for the team victory at the 2025 championship. 10 from Rochester earned All-Liberty League honors, which included seven first-place finishes: 400 meters (Megan Bell), 800 meters (Bell), 400-meter hurdles (Nora Chen), discus (Cora Rose), hammer throw (Cora Rose), javelin (Aimee Oszer), and the 4x400-meter relay (Bell, Chen, Eva Ciuffetelli, Maya Hatch). Eight individuals were recognized as USTFCCCA All-Region honorees and four qualified for the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship (Bell, Chen, Ciuffetelli, Raquella Casserino). All four earned All-America honors, highlighted by the quartet’s eighth-place 4x400-meter relay finish (3:47.44). Bell also earned All-America accolades as the runner-up in the 800 meters, with a personal-best and school record time of 2:05.11. Chen was also a double All-American with a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a school record time of 1:00.21.
