Five from Ithaca Track & Field qualify for 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College men's and women's track & field teams will send five student-athletes to the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships hosted by Nazareth University in Rochester at the Golisano Training Center this weekend, March 14-15.

For each men's individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the championships. For each women's individual event contested, including the pentathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the championships.  

Ben Buffone will represent the men's team as he made a colossal jump in the 800-meter run qualifier standings at the AARTFC Championships with a school record time of 1:52.45, which moved him from 35th up to No. 8 in Division III.

There will be four women in action this weekend as well.

Laura Suppa and Rachel Larson were already locks heading into the final meet of the season, but Aynisha McQuillar and Madeleine Wright found their way to the national stage after their performances at AARTFC.

Suppa will be making her third all-time trip to the NCAA Championships and she is a two-time USTFCCCA Second Team All-American. Suppa is ranked third nationally in the 60-meter hurdles with a top time of 8.58 seconds, which she posted in the final last Saturday.

Larson will join Suppa in the 60 hurdles with the fourth-best time in the nation at 8.60, which also occurred in the final race at AARTFC.

McQuillar was on the bubble for the 60-meter dash and clocked a time of 7.61 seconds in the title race on Saturday to move her up to 14th nationally.

Wright is now a two-time national qualifier in the high jump. She was on the outside of the top 20 heading into AARTFC but won the event with her best mark of the season of 1.68 meters to move into a tie for 15th.
