Vassar Women's Soccer Coaching Staff tabbed with regional accolades

Brewers posted program record 16 wins, won first-ever Liberty League title this fall

The Vassar College Women's Soccer Coaching Staff, directed by Head Coach Keith Simons, and assisted by Marissa Fortuna, Sarah Dwyer-Shick and Adam Pregno, have been named the Region III Staff of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches. The honor comes after the earned the same award from the Liberty League in November.
 
The coaching staff led Vassar to the squad's best season in program history in 2025 as the Brewers won their first Liberty League title, posted a program record 16 victories, and made the program's second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
 
The Brewers featured eight All-Conference selections this season, including Ava Holman, who was named Liberty League Rookie of the Year. Seniors Riley McGrath, Rebecca Rodriguez, Lindsey Niehi, and junior Gianna Panarelli all garnered All-Liberty League First Team recognition.
 
In addition to All-League recognition, the Brewers had four named to All-Region teams. Panarelli was named First Team All-Region III by the United Soccer Coaches and went on to become the program's first ever United Soccer Coaches All-American. She was also the team's first All-America selection since a 2022 D3Soccer.com citation for Jessica Young.
 
Vassar finished the season leading the Liberty League in scoring average and scoring margin. They also finished the year atop the league leaderboard in goals, assists and points.

Vassar closed out the year with a 16-4 overall record and the Brewers made its third overall and second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
