10 from Liberty League Volleyball earn All-America accolades

10 Liberty League Volleyball players from four league institutions earned American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America honors at the conclusion of the Fall 2025 campaign. The 2025 AVCA Division III All-America teams honored 42 players—14 on the first, second, and third teams. The 2025 AVCA Honorable Mention list also recognized an additional 97 players. In total, 129 players garnered All-America accolades.

Among the four Liberty League schools with honorees, Ithaca College headlined the list with a program-best five honorees. The Bombers were also one of just two Division III schools to place a player on each of the first, second, and third teams. They also had two named Honorable Mention. The other five players representing the conference all earned a spot on the Honorable Mention list (3 William Smith, 1 Union, 1 Vassar).
 
All 10 of the honorees were named AVCA All-Region first team selections for Region III in November before garnering All-America accolades. Ithaca's Wesley Slavin, the 2025 Region III and Liberty Player of the Year, was named to the First Team.

AVCA Division III All-America First Team
 
Wesley Slavin, Jr., S, Ithaca
 
Slavin, now a two-time All-American, set career-highs in assists (1,201), digs (244), kills (49), service aces (64) and total blocks (30) this season. She was also named Liberty League Player of the Year and AVCA Region III Player of the Year. Slavin totaled 2,726 career assists, the seventh most by a player in program history.
 
AVCA Division III All-America Second Team
 
Naomi Clauhs, Jr., OH, Ithaca
 
Clauhs boasted a team-high 462 kills on the year, averaging 4.05 kills per set while hitting a career-best .273. She appeared in every set for the Bombers, spearheading the offense all season.
 
AVCA Division III All-America Third Team
 
Ellie Benedict, Sr., L, Ithaca
 
Benedict led the Bombers with 634 digs and averaged 5.42 per set, ranking her19th nationally in Division III. She also contributed 55 service aces and 112 assists. Benedict concludes her three-year career at Ithaca with 1,354 digs.
 
AVCA Division III All-America Honorable Mention
 
Gabriela Gonzalez-Abreu, Sr., OH, Ithaca
 
Gonzalez-Abreu appeared in all 117 sets for the Bombers this season as an outside hitter. She posted a career-best 413 kills (3.53 per set), along with 31 service aces and 330 digs. She recorded 14 double-doubles and hit .199 on the season.

Ella Graper, Sr., MB, Ithaca
 
Graper recorded 124 kills this season and posted a Liberty League-best 113 total blocks, including 25 solo efforts. She concludes her four seasons at Ithaca with 277 career blocks.
 
Maura McAusland, Jr., OH, Vassar
 
McAusland closed the 2025 season with a career-best 404 kills, ranking eighth all-time in a single season in Vassar program history. She also finished the season averaging 4.54 kills per set, which is the second highest mark in program history and ranks third all-time in hitting percentage in a single season at .329. The .329 hitting percentage currently ranks tied for 50th in all of Division III.

Shannon McGrath, Sr., OH, Union
 
McGrath led the Garnet Chargers in kills for the fourth consecutive year (407) while also ranking second on the team in service aces (39) and digs (290). The senior finished third in the conference and fourth in the region in kills and also placed third in the conference and sixth in region in points per set. Among Liberty League players, she ranked 12th in hitting percentage and was 10th in digs per set.
 
Arielle Newsome, So., MB, William Smith
 
In 111 sets, Newsome tallied 186 kills, 111 blocks and 17 digs. She recorded double-digit kills three times this season, including a career-high 20-kill (.545) performance against No. 15 Ithaca in October. She finished the season leading the Liberty League in blocking (1.00 blk/s) and ranked fourth in the conference in hitting percentage (.322).

Malya Sayre, Sr., OH, William Smith
 
In 112 sets, Sayre recorded a single season record of 533 kills for the Herons after recording double-digit kills in all but one match. She also posted a team-leading 12 double-doubles. She also added 279 digs, 61 service aces and 53 blocks through 33 matches. Sayre averaged a league-leading 4.76 kills per set and 5.60 points per set, which ranks seventh and third in the nation, respectively. She ranked eighth in the Liberty League in service aces per set, averaging 0.54. 

Delainy Williams, So., S, William Smith
 
In 111 sets, Williams tallied 1,253 assists, 184 digs, 45 kills, 42 blocks and 41 service aces. She recorded her second-straight 1,000-assist season, bringing her career total to a program-record 2,387. Williams tallied 20+ assists in every match this season, surpassing the 50+ assist mark four times. She averaged a league-leading 10.99 assists per set, which ranks second nationally. Williams led a Heron squad that ranked first in the conference in team hitting percentage (.261), assists per set (12.43), and opponent digs (12.38).
