RPI claims ninth straight Liberty League Men’s Cross Country title

CANTON, N.Y. – The RPI Men’s Cross Country team captured its ninth straight Liberty League title on Saturday at the 2025 Liberty League Cross Country Championships on the campus of St. Lawrence University at the Ronald C. Hoffmann Cross Country Course and hosted by Clarkson University.
 
The Engineers once again cruised to victory as a team with 22 points and their five scoring runners finished among the top seven and earned All-Liberty League first team accolades. In total, all 14 of RPI’s runners competing at the championship placed among the top 21 and earned All-Liberty League recognition (5 first team, 4 second team, 5 honorable mention). St. Lawrence finished runner-up for the second straight year, the Saints tallied 69 points and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) was third with 83 points. The Tigers were followed by Vassar College (112), Ithaca College (131), Union College (177), Clarkson (186), Hobart College (255), and Bard College (272).
 
St. Lawrence senior Nick Lyndaker successfully defended his home course, earning the individual title on the 8,000-meter course with his second straight victory at the conference championship. He recorded a winning time of 25:16.6 with a margin of victory of four seconds to go along with a 5:06 pace.
 
RPI was paced by three upperclassmen with runner-up Evan Lacey, who clocked a time of 25:20.6, leading the way. Colin Goldschmidt finished third with a time of 25:24.0 and Justin Cascio was not far behind in fourth at 25:25.4. Senior Jack Loughery (25:30.0) and senior Jack Czarnecki (25:34.1) rounded out the Engineers’ first team honorees finishing sixth and seventh respectively. Vassar College senior Sean Miller joined Lyndaker and the five scoring RPI runners on the All-Liberty League first team (1st through 7th). Miller was fifth, crossing the finish line in 25:27.7.
 
Those individuals who placed among eighth through fourteenth garnered All-Liberty League second team honors. From RPI: Thomas Manson (25:36.6), Tobin Durham (25:41.1), Dominic Pena (25:49.8), Gwilym Horner (25:49.9) were eighth through 11th. RIT’s Derick Koen finished 12th, posting a time of 25:57.8 and was followed by Max Frazee of Vassar (13th, 25:59.8) and Toag Wolf of Ithaca (26:06.1).
 
The Liberty League also recognizes an honorable mention that represents individuals who finish fifteenth through twenty-first.
