The Liberty League announced that 24 student-athletes in nine different sports have been recognized for outstanding play during the opening weekend of Aug. 30 - Sept. 1. William Smith College junior outside hitter Malya Sayre led the Heron volleyball team to a 3-0 record on the opening weekend. Sayre hit .361 while averaging 4.67 kills and 2.56 digs per set in earning all-tournament team honors. In a 3-0 win over Geneseo, she had a team leading 21 kills along with four service aces.
