Skidmore's Brooke LaVallee represents Liberty League at National DIII SAAC Conference

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Skidmore College women's lacrosse rising junior Brooke LaVallee represented the Liberty League at the NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Conference held this past weekend.

"This was an incredible opportunity for me to advocate for all student-athletes within the league hoping to enhance their experience at the DIII level," Lavallee said.

Next up, Brooke will be heading to Nashville, Tennessee for the NCAA Convention this upcoming January to continue her efforts.

SAAC represents the NCAA Division III student-athlete voice in the Division III governance structure by reviewing legislation; identifying significant student-athlete issues; implementing national student-athlete based initiatives; encouraging community outreach; and enhancing Division III student-athlete involvement in and understanding of Division III in general. The SAAC is also the committee that is primarily responsible for maintaining and coordinating the division's nationwide partnership with Special Olympics. The committee meets in-person four times each year in January, April, July and November. It also conducts teleconferences as needed.

As an associate member, LaVallee was selected back in March by the Liberty League to represent the conference in association with partner conference University Athletic Association (UAA). The one-year term will expire in January of 2025.
