Liberty League announces Spring 2023 All-Academic Teams

TROY, N.Y. – Liberty League commissioner Tracy King has announced that 1,066 spring sport student-athletes have qualified for the league's All-Academic Teams in their respective sports, marking just the third time in the league's 28-year history that more than one thousand have qualified during the spring season. In the spring of 2021, a high of 1,084 spring sport student-athletes were named to the All-Academic Teams.

"Student-athletes at our Liberty League member institutions have consistently demonstrated that it is possible to excel both academically and athletically," said King. "The academic achievement of our student-athletes has always been a great source of pride for our members. I applaud our students for their outstanding work in the classroom."

To be recognized as a member of the All-Academic Team a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.30. The spring championship sports include baseball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's rowing, softball, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's track and field.

Combined with 1,066 spring-sport student-athletes, a total of 2,201 student-athletes in the league's 27 sports have achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average or better.
