SWIMMER OF THE YEAR: Jack Wadsworth, Ithaca College
Ithaca College sophomore Jack Wadsworth was selected as the 2021-22 Liberty League Men's Swimming & Diving Swimmer of the Year after a record shattering season in the pool. At the conference championship, Wadsworth won three individual events (200-yard IM, 400-yard IM, 200-yard backstroke) and took part in four of Ithaca's relays (winning three and taking second in one). He qualified and competed in seven events at the 2021-22 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, where individually he earned All-America honors in his three events. He capped it off with a national champion title in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 22.69 just edging out the runner-up from Whitman College, who finished in 22.66 seconds. Wadsworth was also the runner-up in the 400-yard individual medley (3:49.26) and third in the 200-yard backstroke (1:44.44). He also garnered All-America accolades in the 800-yard freestyle relay, where the Bombers placed 16th with a time of 6:42.01.
DIVER OF THE YEAR: Gellert Kish, Rochester Institute of Technology
RIT first-year diver Gellert Kish was named the 2021-22 Liberty League Men's Swimming & Diving Diver of the Year after sweeping the 1-meter and 3-meter boards at this year's conference championship. He opened the championship with a win in the 3-meter event with a score of 529.20. He capped off his performance at the league championship with a victory in the 1-meter event with a total score of 502.40 in the finals. Kish capped off his rookie campaign by competing in the NCAA Northeast/South Regional, where he finished seventh on the 3-meter board (461.65) and eighth on the 1-meter board (435.10).
ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: James Collishaw, Ithaca College
Ithaca College sophomore James Collishaw was recognized as the 2021-22 Liberty League Men's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Year. Collishaw had a strong rookie campaign with three individual victories at this year's conference championship in the 50-yard, 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle. He also helped the Bombers to three relay victories and one runner-up finish and as a team Ithaca finished in second overall with 1,587 points. Collishaw participated in two individual events (50-yard freestyle; 100-yard backstroke) as well as four relays at the 2021-22 NCAA Championships. He placed among the top-32 in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 49.73 seconds (31st) and also competed in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.78 seconds. He earned All-America accolades in the 800-yard freestyle relay, where the Bombers were 16th (6:42.01).
COACHING STAFF OF THE YEAR: Rochester Institute of Technology – Phil Bartela, Head Coach; Cliff Devries, diving coach and Emily Lederman, assistant coach
RIT head coach Phil Bartela and his staff were recognized as the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year. The Tigers captured their first-ever Liberty League title in Men's Swimming & Diving this year as the team compiled 1,698 points to hold on for a 111-point margin of victory. The Tigers had seven individual victories, which was highlighted by Kish winning from both diving boards while Drew Scheib (100 butterfly, 200 buttefly) and Brendan Kapp (100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke) were also double winners. RIT was also victorious in three relays—400-yard freestyle, 400-yard medley and 200-yard medley.
