LIBERTY LEAGUE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Marvin Sibanda, Junior, Forward, St. Lawrence University
St. Lawrence University junior forward Marvin Sibanda was selected as the Liberty League Player of the Year. In just 11 games during the regular season, Sibanda was tops on the team and league in scoring with nine goals, all against conference opponents, and two assists for 20 points. Through three games in the Liberty League postseason where the Saints won the 2021 Liberty League Championship, Sibanda recorded two goals and handed out an assist for five points. On the year, he has totaled 11 goals and three assists. Sibanda, a three-time Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week selection, currently leads the league in shots per game (4.50), goals per game (.786) and points per game (1.79).
LIBERTY LEAGUE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Trevor Bisson, Senior, Defender, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
RPI senior Trevor Bisson was named the Liberty League Defensive Player of the Year. The defensive back led the Engineers to their second straight Liberty League regular-season title, starting all 17 games for RPI and averaging a team-high 87.1 minutes per match for field players. Bisson headlined a defensive unit that allowed just 0.76 goals per game and 3.94 shots on goal per contest in the regular season. As a team, RPI recorded nine shutouts and posted a .529 shutout percentage, good for 28th nationally. Bisson also had a hand in the offense with one goal.
LIBERTY LEAGUE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: Jaden Longdon, Forward, Rochester Institute of Technology
RIT first-year Jaden Longdon has been recognized as the Liberty League Rookie of the Year. The forward had a breakout rookie campaign for the Tigers, pacing the team with five goals and seven assists for 17 points in 18 games. Among league leaders, he is ranked in the top-ten in assists per game (2nd, .389) and goals per game (7th, .278). RIT posted an overall record of 10-4-4 and advanced to the league tournament for the third time since 2017.
LIBERTY LEAGUE COACHING STAFF OF THE YEAR: Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute – Adam Clinton, Head Coach; Assistant Coaches Paul Fowler & Kenn Fryer
RPI head coach Adam Clinton and assistant coaches Paul Fowler and Kenn Fryer earned Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year honors. They guided the Engineers to their second consecutive Liberty League regular-season title with a conference record of 7-2-0 and finished the season with an overall mark of 11-6-3. RPI earned a spot in the conference tournament for the third consecutive season and fourth time since 2016. The Engineers averaged 1.6 goals per game and held opponents to 0.83 goals per game this season while posting nine shutouts, including six against conference opponents. In league play, RPI led all conference teams with 15.47 shots per game (142 total).
