Why did choose to attend Vassar College?
“From a lacrosse point of view, I love my coach (Vassar Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach Judy Finerghty) and the family team environment she created. Academically, what Vassar has to offer is amazing and exactly what I was looking for in a college.”
Why did you decide to be a Division III (DIII) student-athlete?
“DIII offered me the perfect balance of being a student and an athlete. Academics as well as participating in activities beyond athletics were my first priorities when looking at colleges, and DIII schools allowed me to pursue my other interests while still being able to play the sport I love.”
What is your favorite moment as a Liberty League student-athlete?
“My favorite Liberty League moment so far has also been my only, (due to the COVID pandemic). It was last year when we beat Skidmore in overtime; our whole team was really motivated to go out and beat them. It was extremely exciting to be able to play in the game and help the team win.”
Are you a member of any other clubs/organizations at your school, in addition to athletics?
“Yes, I am the secretary of Vassar’s Asian Students Alliance. I joined to be a part of a group of welcoming and inclusive people who shared my background. I am also a Cushing Student Fellow (RA), I really enjoy being a resource and connection for a group of freshmen. I help them become adjusted to college life.”
What are your future career goals/plans? Have you done any internships/volunteering to help you with that goal?
“I want to pursue a research career studying animal behavior and cognition in the natural environments; animals are fascinating to me. This year I am a member of a Sensory Ecology Lab at Vassar under Dr. Megan Gall, where we study chickadees and their calls at the Vassar Ecological Preserve.”
