University of Rochester first-year utility player Riley Laygo was the top hitter for the Yellowjackets over a 4-0 week. The rookie hit .545 (6-for-11) with five runs scored to lead the team. Laygo added one double, one triple and one home run, finishing with 1 RBI out of the leadoff spot in Rochester’s order. She was 2-for-5 stealing bases, had a 1.091 slugging mark and reached base at a .643 percentage, adding 3 HBP to her total. On Thursday vs Alfred, Laygo went 3-for-4 with 2 runs and a triple in a game one win. During Friday’s DH sweep of Ithaca, the rookie had a solo HR and finished 2-for-3 in Rochester’s game one win.
