University of Rochester first-year Shibo Wang ended in solo fifth place and helped Rochester to a team title at the Liberty League Men's Golf Championship over the weekend. The first-year had rounds of 74, 70 and 73 to end with a 54-hole total of 217, just three strokes out of a playoff for medalist honors. Wang’s efforts helped Rochester post season-best team rounds of 287 on Saturday and Sunday, finishing with a three-day effort of 870 which claimed the team title by three shots. Wang was second in the tournament with 36 total pars and was one of eight players to record and eagle. He also had seven birdies and was terrific on par-5 holes throughout the weekend, ending at 4-under.
