University of Rochester junior Cole Goodman finished with two top-five results this weekend at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, scoring 12 of UR’s 14 team points during the competition. Goodman finished as national runner-up in the triple jump for the second straight year, jumping 15.27 meters. He held the lead for three rounds and moved up one spot with his best jump in the sixth and final round of the competition. On Friday, Goodman also was an All-American after finishing fifth in the long jump with 7.21 meter leap in that event. After fouling on his first two jumps, Goodman popped off his best mark on his third attempt, securing him the eventual top-5 result. Rochester as a team finished tied for 10th overall, its best ever men’s track and field finish indoors.
