Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute senior Cory Kennedy set a program and Liberty League record in the 3,000, recording a time of 8:04.77 at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Kennedy was the top Division III finisher in an event dominated by Division I entries. He broke the Liberty League record of 8:07.26 set last season by former RPI teammate Matt Lecky. Kennedy's time is currently the second-best in Division III this season.
