After three record breaking meets to begin her collegiate career, Union College first-year Ashley Sheldon upped the ante even more at the Utica Blue and Orange Invite this past Saturday, breaking two of her own records already etched in the Union record book in her two wins and picking up additional podium and top-10 finishes. Sheldon shattered the program’s 60-meters hurdles record, which she had already broke twice in her first three meets, by running 9.43 seconds to take home her first collegiate win in the event. She later broke her own high jump record, clearing the bar at 1.65 meters (5’5”), clearing the mark the same height as her while clinching her third consecutive win in the jump. The Andover, Mass. native added a 10.83-meter jump in her first collegiate triple jump competition, good for third, and posted a 27.88 time in her initial collegiate 200, finishing in eighth. Overall, Sheldon was responsible for 27 of Union’s 73 team points in the meet.
