Hobart College first-year guard Alex Moesch led the Statesmen to three victories to close out the calendar year, averaging 19.0 ppg. On Dec. 19, he shared game-high honors with 18 points, a then season-high, as the Statesmen dispatched Wells 78-58. Moesch was 6-of-7 shooting, including a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the 3-point arc, and hit both of his free throws against the Express. On Dec. 28, Moesch scored 14 points, including 11 in the second half, helping Hobart overcome a 31-28 halftime deficit to beat Immaculata 70-58. For the second game in a row, he sank a season-high four 3-pointers. Moesch said good bye to 2023 with a career-high 25 points, leading the Statesmen past St. Scholastica 81-66. He torched the Saints for a season-high five 3-pointers and was 9-of-13 shooting overall. In the three games, Moesch shot 66.7% from the floor, 61.9% from deep and 100% at the line. Hobart is 10-0 for the first time in program history.
