University of Rochester junior Arnav Mandhana won both clinching points in the team's 2-0 weekend to open the 2023-24 season against a pair of higher ranked teams. Mandhana, Rochester's number-nine player rallied to win in five games (11-5, 10-12, 7-11, 11-4, 11-4) against 16th-ranked MIT’s Mitav Nayak on Saturday, earning the fifth point in the Rochester 6-3 win over the Engineers. On Sunday in UR’s 6-3 upset of 13th-ranked Western Ontario, Mandhana posted a 3-0 sweep (11-6, 11-6, 13-11) to earn the fifth and deciding point.
