Hobart College junior quarterback Johnny Colombi led a comeback that saw the Statesmen overcome a 14-point deficit to post a 31-21 win over Rensselaer on Saturday. He completed 16-of-25 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown and rushed 10 times for 43 yards and two touchdowns. He threw his touchdown pass on fourth-and-goal from the 3 as time expired on the first half, cutting Hobart's halftime deficit to 14-10. He ran for both of his touchdowns in the fourth quarter, scoring on a 6-yard scramble with 11 minutes remaining to give the Statesmen their first lead, 24-21. Colombi gave Hobart a 10-point cushion with a 1-yard draw with 6:32 to go. He was not sacked and was not tackled for a loss during the game. Hobart, which trailed RPI 14-0, has not overcome a larger deficit in the past 30 years.
