St. Lawrence University first-year player Yvette Karera won the B flight singles title at the Mary Hosking Invitational (William Smith), going 4-0. Karera started with an 8-3 win in the opening round before earning 8-1 wins in the both the quarterfinals and semifinals. She advanced to the flight final where she faced off against her twin sister Yvette. Ariane prevailed in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (7-5) to claim the flight.
