University of Rochester first-year Molly Broccolo was named Most Outstanding Performer of the Liberty League Tournament as she helped the Yellowjackets to the conference title for the third year in a row. She appeared in four games, starting three and went 1-0 with a 1.62 ERA across 21.2 innings. Broccolo allowed five runs while striking out eight.
She earned the win against RPI on Friday in an elimination game, tossing a complete game three-hitter with four strikeouts, only allowing one run (5-1 win). On Saturday in the championship round, she tossed 9.1 innings against Ithaca, holding the Bombers to only singles and just three runs in two games, while striking out three. Rochester ended up winning both games 3-2 (8 inn.) and 5-4 (10 inn.) in extra innings en route to the 2023 title.
