The RPI second doubles pairing of Abraham Yohannes and Igor Visnevskij went 3-0 in the Liberty League Championship to help the Engineers claim their second straight title. Yohannes and Visnevskij opened the tournament with an 8-1 victory over Union in the first round. In Saturday’s semifinals, the pair defeated Skidmore 8-3 as part of an RPI doubles sweep. In the championship match against Hobart, Yohannes and Visnevskij defeated Harry Lyu and Troy Steiner 8-3, which avenged an 8-2 loss to the Statesmen from the previous weekend. Yohannes, who was also 2-0 in his completed singles matches in the tournament, was named the Most Outstanding Player of the championship.
