In the multi-divisional Capital District Classic in Troy, RPI first-year athlete Cortez Garrett won all three events in which he was entered. Garrett was victorious in the eight-competitor 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.29, which was .28 in front of the runner-up, and he won the 400-meter hurdles in 55.63 - .07 ahead of the second-place finisher. He also ran the third leg of the 4x100-meter relay which won in a time of 43.22 to beat three other squads. As a team, RPI compiled 324 points to beat second-place Union (129) by nearly 200 and each of the other eight schools.
