RPI graduate student Joey Harrigan shot an even-par 70 to lead the Engineers to first place at the rain-shortened Farmingdale State College Spring Classic at the Bethpage State Park Red Course. He tied for second place individually, one shot behind the leader. Harrigan started par-bogey but answered with par-birdie to get back to even after four holes. His birdie was a two on the 181-yard fourth, which he followed with two pars and a second birdie, another two on a par-3, the 184-yard seventh. He went out at -1, 34 but gave two shots back at Nos. 10 and 11. Harrigan followed with four pars before a birdie-4 at the 565-yard No. 16. There were nine schools in the tournament.
